The Minnesota Vikings and Everson Griffen reached a deal worth $42.5 Million that will keep him playing for the Vikings in five years. The deal reportedly will give Griffen a $20 Million guaranteed money and will net him $8.5 Million annually.

Everson Griffen was a backup of Jared Allen and Brian Robison in base defensive end position, and a situational pass-rusher to make both Allen and Robison have some breathing room. A highly-coveted defensive lineman if he's not signed back by the Vikings, the 2010 4th rounder can find a new place to start with the same amount of money he had received.

The move looks like Griffen was favored more than Allen, as he brings more room for improvement and skills that Allen no longer capable of. Having Robison and Griffen signed for multi-year contracts will make Vikings defensive line anchored on the long run. What are your thoughts on Everson Griffen signing?
