The star-studded NFL Awards feature NFL Stars and their WAGs into the red carpet. Participants of Super Bowl couldn't celebrate this fast especially the ones who were awarded for their hard working efforts to reach the stage they're into this weekend. Peyton Manning's fifth Most Valuable Player Award was presented by his father Archie Manning and his son Marshall Manning, letting the kid saw how his father was respected throughout the league.
The Carolina Panthers and its two of their cornerstones who turned this franchise around, Ron "Riverboat" Rivera and Luke Kuechly was awarded for AP Coach of the Year Award and NFL's Most Defensive Player of the Year Award, respectively. They won their awards in a close competition with a lot of deserving competitors around the league. The coach of the year award can come between Chip Kelly, Pete Carroll, Bruce Arians, Andy Reid, and Bill Belichick. On the defensive player of the year award, players like Robert Mathis, Navorro Bowman, Robert Quinn, and Legion of Boom's Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman could win the prestigious award. Ron Rivera and Luke Kuechly might not be in Super Bowl to play for this weekend but having awarded like this makes them feel that Super Bowl is within reach for the next seasons to come.
The offensive and defensive rookie of the year are Eddie Lacy of the Green Bay Packers and Sheldon Richardson of the New York Jets. Eddie Lacy was rivaled by Keenan Allen for the best offensive rookie and the one who was heavily-favored to win the award because of his play-making abilities and big play highlights he brings to San Diego Chargers rejuvenated offense.
Speaking of rejuvenated offense, the quarterbacks who were recognized for their efforts are Philip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, and Nick Foles. Keenan Allen's quarterback threw the ball enough for him to make Philip Rivers the winner of AP Comeback Player of the Year Award by not disregarding to pound the ball to Ryan Mathews which was the runner-up of comeback player of the year award. Mike McCoy might be smiling somewhere seeing his offense get the attention they worth for their comeback season only in his first year of head coaching the San Diego Chargers.
Aaron Rodger's playmaking abilities did not went out of style with this new age of quarterbacks when he threw the award-winning clutch touchdown pass to Randall Cobb to make the Green Bay Packers hang on for their playoff hopes this regular season.
Nick Foles' Greatness on the Road was capitalized by his efforts on throwing seven touchdowns on the road versus the Oakland Raiders. His teammate however, LeSean McCoy wins the FedEx Ground Player of the Year for his rushing performances throughout the regular season. The only rival for his rushing performances this season was Jamaal Charles who also win an award, the Fantasy Player of the Year Award.
The man who could also win the Fantasy Player of the Year Award only if injuries didn't bugged him, Calvin Johnson or the Megatron also win an award, the Bridgestone Performance Play of the Year Award for the best catch or might be the best play of the season for beating three Cincinnati Bengals defenders for a touchdown catch.
Other notable defensive players are Sheldon Richardson and Robert Mathis for AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and Deacon Jones Player of the Year Award, respectively. Sheldon Richardson's New York Jets lead the league in lowest rushing average per attempt with the help of his teammates in the trenches, Muhammad Wilkerson and Damon "Big Snacks" Harrison. Robert Mathis second season as a stand-up Outside Linebacker position in a 3-4 Scheme as a pass-rusher helped him earned this new award for the league's best sack artist of the year.
Other noteworthy awards are: Salute to Service Award presented by USAA won by John Harbaugh, the 2013 Super Bowl winning team Head Coach of the Baltimore Ravens. Don Shula High School Coach of the Year Award goes to Mike Grant out of Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota. The best off-the-field award for an NFL player, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award goes to Charles Tillman for developing and inspiring the people throughout his hometown team Chicago.
Everytime Peyton Manning play the whole season in a perfect condition, you know that he can get at least one award out of his three awards on NFL Honors. Those awards are AP Offensive Player of the Year, the FedEx Air Player of the Year, and the Most Valuable Player Award. Last year, Peyton also won the FedEx Air Player of the Year Award and Adrian Peterson was the trio awardee of those Awards (just change FedEx Air to FedEx Ground Award).
